Dieter Thompson is a maverick of the
telecommunications industry. In 1999, he saw
what others in his industry did not … a better
way of benchmarking and negotiating
telecommunication costs for multi-national
companies. TAG was born.
The majority of Thompson’s career was spent
with AT&T, where he contributed to the
traditional connectivity environment with AT&T
in various capacities over a nine-year period.
After AT&T, he helped pioneer the development of
an asset exchange approach using
telecommunications credits and "non-performing"
assets associated with Fortune 500 companies and
large money center banks.
In Thompson co-founded a consulting company
focused on procurement and vendor management in
the telecommunications arena. He sold this
business to ACS, a Fortune 500 outsourcing
company headquartered in Dallas, Texas, where he
served as Vice President of Network Sales and
Advisory Services for two and a half years. This
experience at ACS uniquely positioned him to
offer advice on the traditional network
marketplace and the emerging outsourcing models.
Having negotiated more than 125 contracts
representing $1billion in annual revenues, these
experiences are now offered to the market
through Thompson’s own vision and company.
In 2007, TAG was named one of the fastest
growing privately held companies by Inc.
magazine and is a member of the Inc. 5,000.
Additionally, TAG’s superior achievements were
noted by Alsbridge, Inc. , which purchased the
company in 2010.
Thompson operates TAG as
a wholly-owned subsidiary and service line of
Alsbridge, Inc..
